Unified Communications We've been screening Unified Communication solutions for nearly three years and have finally found a product we believe to be the best currently available and very affordable. What is "Unified Communications?" In brief, it's a suite or "toolbox" of familiar communications and information management services that can all be accessed from a single 8XX toll-free number and a secure personal web site. These "tools" include call screening, voicemail, conference calling, faxing, email and more. In greater detail, the system can be used from any touch tone phone using voice commands or the keypad. The system will screen calls (or not), take voice messages, notify you of new messages by email and/or pager and/or phone (or not) and, after listening to a voicemail, you can return the call by simply saying "return the call." Download/upload contact info from PDAs, PIMs like Outlook and ACT, and call anyone in your contact list by simply saying their name. Place conference calls "on the fly" with up to three other callers or up to 32 callers from your secure personal web site. Faxes and voicemails appear at the web site: faxes as .pdf or .tiff, which ever you prefer, and voicemail as .mp3. You can create fax and voicemail broadcast lists and send the same fax or voicemail to as many people as needed. Schedule "reminders" and the system will phone and/or page and/or email you the "reminder."
